Protocol 4: COVID 19 – HJRFC Season 2020/2021 return to play protocols

This is the fourth in a sequence of releases about matters which each of us must attend to on return to training. This protocol is focused on the changes which we will all experience on our return to training sessions at Hughenden, whether for men’s, women’s or girl’s rugby. This protocol divides neatly into four training components: BEFORE, ON ARRIVAL, DURING and AFTER.

In short:

  • BEFORE covers when we can train, how we might travel to training and what we might bring with us.
  • ON ARRIVAL reminds us about social distancing.
  • DURING TRAINING refers to the importance of remaining in our bubbles and observing sanitizing guidelines.
  • AFTER TRAINING emphasises sanitising and returning home immediately once training concludes.

This new normal may cause us some hiccups at first, but with some care and attention we should all adapt easily so that we remain safe and others likewise at our club.

There will be a maximum of three more releases of guidelines to come. These will include the importance of bubbles for training and finally for stage 3 the most important of all which is the system the club will be using for players to book for training and have that attendance confirmed. This is to comply with the Scottish Governments requirements for a Track and Trace system. Thereafter, we will be directed to view an excellent SRU-designed video, which brings together all the guidelines.
