Protocol 5: COVID 19 – HJRFC Season 2020/2021 return to play protocols
This is the fifth in a sequence of releases about matters which each of us must attend to on return to training at Hughenden. This protocol is focused on the major changes to how training sessions at Hughenden are delivered.
This protocol introduces and describes the concept of a training bubble. Either prior to or on arrival at training, each player will be directed to join a bubble on the grounds. The number occupying a bubble will generally not exceed 5 on an area approximating to ¼ of the training pitch. If players (e.g. siblings) are attending from the same household or are flat sharing then the number in a bubble may increase.
Training sessions will therefore comprise of 20-24 people (including coaches) on the training pitch. At this stage it is envisaged that Tuesday/Thursday sessions for men, given the larger numbers, will comprise two sequential slots, 18.30 – 19.30, and 19.30 – 20-30. Our coaches will be involved in player allocation and a booking system for players to confirm attendances will be available soon. This complies with the Scottish Governments requirements for a track and trace system.
This new normal may take time to get used to at first, but with some care and attention we should all adapt easily so that we all remain safe at our club.
We have now almost completed our introduction to the new normal. Our next protocol will be an SRU video which brings together all the guidelines.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
TRAINING RESUMES WEDNESDAY AUGUST 5 FOR WOMEN AND TUESDAY AUGUST 11 FOR MEN. PLEASE STAY SAFE.
