Pictured in the autumnal evening sunshine at Hughenden just outside the Clubhouse, Stuart Monro is assisting in one of the many “ unseen” tasks required of volunteers in the Club rugby game.
When at full strength in the 24/25 season, Hills can just about put 5 squads on the field over a Saturday and Sunday : Mens 1st and 2nd XVs and then the combined GU-Hills XV along with the Women’s 1st and 2nd XVs.
Arranging the strips on return from the laundry can be quite a demanding task to ensure the correct jerseys are placed in the relevant kit bags. BUT Stuart is more than happy to help the Club out in this way.
Stuart is a long time servant of the Club, having been a team manager in the period 2003-2010, and who answered the call AGAIN for help which Hills Secretary, Andy Scott ( snr), mailed members on. “ Helping out at Hughenden again was not going to be an issue, as I have many happy memories from the times when I volunteered before,” said Stuart.
MANY THANKS TO STUART FOR HIS CONTINUING COMMITMENT
