The annual lunch of the Hills Vice Presidents Club was held in the main function room at Hughenden prior to the 1st XV Match against West of Scotland FC on Saturday September 17.
Some 60 members and guests enjoyed a splendid lunch served by cafe Source Too and then listened to the principal speaker, Gavin Hastings, who reminisced about some of his rugby experiences and “encouraged all to be the very best that they can be”.
The Vote of thanks was delivered by John Maclean, who spoke about founder member Allan Hosie’s wish to form a group which would raise funds to support the playing of rugby at Hughenden. Over £100K had been raised in the 19 years since the VP group had begun.
